1. What Car Broker Network is
Car Broker Network is a private accreditation and standards organization for California auto brokers. Accreditation is a statement that a member meets our standard and remains in good standing. It is not a government license or endorsement, and it does not replace any license, bond, or duty a broker owes under California law.
2. Eligibility
Accreditation is open to brokers who hold the credentials California requires and pass our verification. To be accredited and stay accredited, a member must hold a valid California dealer license with an active autobroker endorsement, maintain the surety bond California requires, pass our background check, and sign and follow the Code of Conduct. You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate information.
3. Accreditation and approval
Submitting an application and paying the membership fee does not by itself grant accreditation. We review each application and approve it only after verification. We may decline an application, and we may re-verify credentials at any time during membership. Accreditation, once granted, is active for one year and reflects standing within the Car Broker Network program only.
4. Membership and fees
Membership runs for twelve months from activation. The annual membership fee is $499, charged at signup through our payment processor, Stripe. Membership does not renew automatically; to continue, you renew each year at the then-current fee. You are responsible for keeping your California dealer license, autobroker endorsement, and surety bond valid for the full membership term.

6. Code of Conduct and enforcement
Every accredited broker agrees to the Code of Conduct, which is part of these terms. Dealers, consumers, and members may report conduct that appears to break the Code. We review each report and decide, in our reasonable judgment, whether a violation is confirmed. Two confirmed violations result in removal from the network and a five-year suspension from accreditation. A single serious violation, such as fraud or document forgery, may result in immediate removal. A suspended member loses the right to use the Car Broker Network name, seal, and directory, and access to the member area.
7. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly of any unauthorized use. Keep your contact and service area information accurate. We may suspend access to protect the network or to enforce these terms or the Code of Conduct.
8. Disclaimers
The network and the site are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee any particular business result, volume of deals, dealer relationships, or income from membership. We are not a government agency and are not affiliated with the California Department of Motor Vehicles. Accreditation is not a warranty of any member's conduct; it reflects standing in our program at a point in time.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Car Broker Network is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or business, arising from your membership or use of the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the network is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
10. Termination
You may cancel your membership at any time; cancellation stops future renewal and does not entitle you to a refund of a fee already paid for the current term, except as stated in the Refunds section. We may suspend or terminate membership for a violation of these terms or the Code of Conduct, or if required credentials lapse.
11. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California. We may update these terms as the program grows or as the law changes; we will post the current version here with its effective date, and continued membership after a change means you accept the updated terms. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
